Policies
At Nordic Knotwork Massage, we believe in maintaining 100% transparency with our clients. To uphold this commitment, all of our policies are readily available here on our website. This ensures that you can review them at your convenience, anytime and anywhere. We understand the importance of clear communication and informed decisions and strive to provide all necessary information to our clients in an open and straightforward manner. Your trust and understanding are paramount to us.
Cancellation/No Show Policy:
⦁ Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of 24-hour notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. Please contact us or cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Failure to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, or failure to show up for your appointment without prior notice (a “no show”), may result in a charge of half of the full session amount. This charge applies to both cancellations and no-shows as it allows us to better accommodate other clients who may be waiting for an appointment. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Late Policy:
⦁ Our late arrival policy requires that clients arrive on time to ensure that we can stay on schedule for our other clients. If a client is late, their session time may be reduced to ensure that we can accommodate other clients. Please note that arriving late will not change the end time of your scheduled appointment, and clients will still be charged the full amount of their session. If you anticipate that you may be running late for your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Late Paperwork for Client Safety and Scheduling:
We recognize the importance of understanding each client's health status before proceeding with a massage therapy session. There are certain contraindications for massage therapy, and it is crucial for us to review your completed paperwork in advance. This enables us to determine whether massage therapy is appropriate for your situation, if you may need to see another Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), or if we need to obtain approval from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) for certain health conditions.
To facilitate this process, we require that all necessary paperwork be submitted ahead of your scheduled appointment. This is essential for us to ensure your safety and the effectiveness of the therapy provided. In the event that you are unable to submit your paperwork in advance, you have the option to complete it at our office. However, please plan to arrive early enough to fill out the paperwork without impacting your scheduled session time or interfering with the appointments of other clients.
Payment Policy:
⦁ To ensure smooth and efficient service at our massage center, we kindly ask all our clients to adhere to the following payment policy:
Accepted Payment Methods:
⦁ We happily accept both card and cash payments for our services. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept checks.
Tipping Policy:
⦁ While tips are greatly appreciated as a reflection of your satisfaction with our services, they are by no means mandatory. Please feel free to tip according to your comfort and satisfaction levels.
Health Screening Policy:
⦁ At our practice, we understand the nuances of health and wellness, acknowledging that commercial massage therapists are not typically considered healthcare providers. That said, when massage therapy is carried out in collaboration with or under the guidance of a health care provider, such as a chiropractor or physical therapist, it may fall under HIPAA regulations. Even though we might not always be subject to these rules, we prioritize the confidentiality and safety of our clients' information and well-being. Comprehensive Health Intake.
⦁ We kindly request that you provide a comprehensive and accurate health intake, enabling us to tailor our treatment plans effectively and safely to your individual needs. We assure you that all shared information will be kept confidential and will only be used to inform your treatment. Please understand that an incomplete or inaccurate intake can lead to potential injury under certain circumstances, and our utmost concern is to avoid causing any harm in our practice.
Sickness and Infection:
⦁ For the safety of our staff and other clients, we cannot provide services to anyone who is sick or suspects they might be sick. This includes but is not limited to, individuals with colds, flu, COVID-19, infections, rashes, or any transmittable diseases. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please inform us as soon as possible, and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date when you are feeling well.
⦁ We highly value your trust and cooperation in adhering to our health screening policy and are committed to upholding our legal and ethical responsibilities regarding your privacy and well-being. We appreciate your understanding and compliance with these policies as we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Right to Refuse or Cancel Services Policy:
⦁ Our clinic is dedicated to maintaining a safe, professional, and respectful environment for both our staff and clients. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services at any point if a client’s behavior is inappropriate, or offensive, or if it compromises the safety and comfort of our staff and other clients.
Immediate Termination:
⦁ Services will be terminated immediately if a client exhibits inappropriate, offensive, or unsafe behavior, including but not limited to, explicit remarks, advances, or any actions that can be perceived as deriving from illicit intentions or activities.
Cancellation and Rescheduling:
⦁ Our staff has the right to cancel or reschedule appointments if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe, with or without disclosing the specific reason for cancellation.
Refund Policy:
⦁ If services are terminated due to a breach of this policy, the client may not be entitled to a refund, subject to management discretion.
Reporting:
⦁ Incidents will be documented, and where necessary, reported to the appropriate authorities to maintain the safety and integrity of our clinic and its staff.
Expectation of Respect and Professionalism:
⦁ We are committed to providing high-quality services in a professional and respectful manner. We expect the same level of respect and professionalism in return from our clients. We have zero tolerance for any form of harassment, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior.
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and commitment to maintaining a respectful and professional environment at our clinic. Violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal from our premises and could lead to a ban from future appointments and services.
*** A copy of these policies should be attached to all Client Intake forms and must be signed before treatment.
